On September 9, the first-wave final of Young SDG Innovators Programme of the UN Global Compact was held.
Participants included representatives of PUMB, Yes Straws, Farmak, Energoatom, FILM.UA Group, Alfa-Bank Ukraine, Astarta-Kyiv, DTEK, EPAM Ukraine, and EY.
With the assistance of mentors, including kmbs graduates, Olha Levitan and Vitalii Vereshchahin, the innovators sought sustainable solutions to the challenges facing Ukrainian business. As a result, they presented projects that would help their companies move closer to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
At the closing event, the participants were congratulated by Osnat Lubrani, UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator.
Mrs. Osnat appreciated the results of the teams and stressed in her speech:
"You know that the Sustainable Development Goals are at the heart of everything we do, in cooperation with states, civil society, governments, residents of cities and communities, but the role of the private sector can hardly be overestimated. And that's why I believe that the partnership with you (private sector — editor's note) for supporting young people is just incredible."
As an educational partner, kmbs has been supporting young innovators on the way to the sustainable development of Ukrainian business for the second year in a row. If you are one of them, we invite you to apply for the second wave of the Programme.
