We invite you to visit the awards ceremony of this year's winner of Georgiy Gongadze Prize, which will take place on May 21 at 19:15 on UA:KULTURA TV channel.
Among the finalists of the Prize are: Mr. Roman Vintoniv, the founder of Toronto Television, Mr. Pavlo Kazarin, a publicist and TV presenter and Mr. Bohdan Logvynenko, a founder of Ukrainer project.
This year the event will be held for the first time in TV format, it will be presented by Mr. Yuri Makarov and Mrs. Olha Snitsarchuk.
Apart from the finalists of the Prize, the participants of the broadcast will also be:
— Mrs. Myroslava Gongadze, wife of Georgiy Gongadze and head of Voice of America Ukrainian Service;
— Mr. Andriy Kurkov, writer and president of PEN Ukraine;
— Mrs. Larysa Denysenko, writer, human rights activist and journalist;
— Mr. Ihor Kozlovsky, scientist, publicist;
— Mr.Vakhtang Kipiani, a first winner of the Prize, an editor-in-chief of the online publication Historical Truth and the eponymous TV magazine at Espresso channel, as well as the founder of the Museum-Archive of the Press;
— Mr. Yevhen Hlibovytsky, strategy expert.
Georgiy Gongadze Prize is the award given to independent journalists, it was established in 2019 by PEN Ukraine in partnership with Ukrainska Pravda and powered KMBS Alumni platform.
This year's long list of nominees for the Prize includes 22 Ukrainian journalists. Criteria for nominating candidates include the following:
innovation;
significant contribution to the development of genre or journalistic environment;
professionalism and competence.
